Yinchuan, capital of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region in Northwest China, began suspending buses in early morning on Jan 29 in an attempt to contain the deadly coronavirus. The city has 19 confirmed cases of the virus.

As soon as Ban Bo, a 39-year-old teacher at Ningxia Vocational College of Finance and Economics, heard the news about suspension of public transport, he decided he should do his part for those who need help.

He joined two groups of volunteers giving medical workers a lift for free.

"Many of my relatives are working at hospitals," Ban said. "So I know how hard their work is."

The taxi sector in Yinchuan has set up 19 groups of taxi drivers for free pick-up service for medical professionals in eight hospitals.? ? ? ? ?
